This is Our Second Term!
Now that the children have the first term under their belts and they know what is expected of them, the second term should be a breeze! Apart from the usual day-to-day activities and weekly tests, we will have subject assessments and Big Tests towards the end of the term. Fun Walk Reward
Grade 4H pulled out all the stops and raised the most money for the Fun Walk in the senior section of the school. Their treat was to jump on the new trampoline that the school has just acquired. You can see from the photos below that it was great fun for them to jump to their heart's content!
Big Tests!
Now that the Assessments are over, it is time to focus on learning for the Big Tests that take place from Tuesday 29 May and end on Thursday 7 June. You will have received a list of what to learn for these tests. Please note that the whole year's work is being tested! Use the assessments and tests from last term and the assessments from this term as part of your revision. You will get a better idea of the kind of questions that will be asked and it will be a good way to check if you know the work. Here are some important study tips to remember:
There is no magic formula to get an A (100%). You have to STUDY!
Eat a healthy breakfast before the test. Drink plenty of water.
Get enough sleep - don't wake up early to study.
If you don't understand - ASK!
Use mind maps, underline your work, use colour, read aloud, teach your teddy (or sister or parents)
Revise before your test, not only on the day before, but in the week before your test.
Use a study timetable so that you know you have covered all your work.
Study in a quiet place.
Test yourself - get your parents to quiz you, ask your friend to test you.
Have the correct stationery for your tests.
On the day of your test:
Go to the toilet before the test.
Read the questions carefully.
Check your work. Not once, but 3 times!
Do your best, write neatly and don't leave any answers out. Try to answer everything.
If you have prepared - you will be successful!
"There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, learning from failure." General Colin Powell
All the best, and happy studying!
