We have had a lot of fun activities during this term. In the second week of term, we had a picnic for everyone to come and meet each other. It was a beautiful evening and we all had a lovely time. On Friday 10 February, the Inter-House Gala took place and the children of Blue House proudly took the winner's trophy. A week later on Friday 17 February, we had our Inter-House Sports Day at Camps Bay High School and this time Green House was victorious.
In class the children presented their "Healthy Snack" orals to their friends. It was a fun-filled and tasty morning.
Our two outings this term are to the Waterfront for a Historical Walk and to Signal Hill to witness the firing of the Noon Gun at midday. Both of these outings tie in with our work in History.
We are having our cake sales towards the end of term and this money is spent on the Grade 4 classes during the year.
As an ongoing activity, we encourage the Grade 4's to bring in recycling in the form of paper, cans and plastic. House marks are given and the children can earn a "can" on our recycling wall for every 10 bags of newspaper, or 100 cans or 100 plastic items brought in.
The school is collecting Easter Eggs to give to children less fortunate than ours, so please be generous and send in as many as you can! (End of Term Note - the school collected over 3000 Easter Eggs, because of your generosity. Thank you very much for brightening the day of all those boys and girls!)
